A white tiger used by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to express the party’s strength in its election campaign died during a rally on Wednesday.
The tiger was spotted in rallies led by Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Nawaz Sharif, in Lahore.
According to details, the rare tiger was brought lifeless to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Tuesday evening. The vets there tried to restore the animal but to no gain.
The World Wide Fund (WWF) termed the use of white tiger in election crusade as abuse of international laws. According to a report, white tigers are endangered animals and are extremely receptive to heat and noise.
With temperatures in Lahore towering past 30 degrees Celsius and there being nothing but noise at the political rallies, the tiger could not stay alive.
WWF also inveterate that well-known actor and conservationist Faryal Gohar would file a plead with the Lahore High Court against the prohibited use of wildlife animals at rallies.
